Simon Blackburn is Professor of Philosophy at the University of Cambridge. His many books include Spreading the Word (1984), The Oxford Dictionary of Philosophy (1994), Ruling Passions (1998), Truth: A Guide for the Perplexed (2005), and two volumes of collected papers. They have been translated into more than twenty languages.
