David Campbell is Professor of Physics, Electrical and Computer Engineering, and Materials Science and Engineering at Boston University. He has held visiting professorial positions in France, Germany, Russia, Hong Kong, China, and Japan. He is the founding Editor-in-Chief of the American Institute of Physics journal Chaos: An Interdisciplinary Journal of Nonlinear Science, as well as a Fellow of the American Physical Society (APS) and of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. In recognition of his research and leadership contributions, Campbell received the 2010 Julius Edgar Lilienfeld Prize from the APS. Early in his career, he was the first Oppenheimer Fellow at the Los Alamos National Laboratory, where he later cofounded and directed the Center for Nonlinear Studies.
