David Lobina

David Lobina is a Juan de la Cierva researcher in the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Barcelona. He specialises in the philosophy of cognitive science, and in theoretical linguistics and psycholinguistics. He is the author of Recursion (2017) and is currently evaluating the present status of the language of thought hypothesis.

Linguistics Fiat recursio! [long_description] David Lobina and Mark Brenchley review Tom Wolfe’s The Kingdom of Speech, arguing that most accounts of Chomsky’s concept of recursion are erroneous. By clarifying just what Chomsky meant by the term, they show that Everett’s (and Wolfe’s) critique of Chomsky becomes irrelevant.
