Denis Knoepfler is an archeologist, epigraphist, historian, and the scientific director of the Swiss-Greek excavations of Amarynthos. He is professor of epigraphy and the history of Greek cities at the Collège de France, as well as a member of the Académie des inscriptions et belles-lettres.
