Jean-Paul Delahaye is a mathematician, professor emeritus in computer science at the University of Lille, and researcher at the laboratory CRISTAL (Centre de recherche en informatique signal et automatique de Lille). His work focuses on algorithms for sequence transformation, on the use of logic in artificial intelligence, on game theory, and more recently, on algorithmic information theory (Kolmogorov complexity), and in particular its applications to finance. He is the author of more than a dozen books, including Mathématiques et mystères (2016). In 1998, he received the Prix d’Alembert from the Mathematical Society of France.
