Jochen Böhler

Jochen Böhler is an expert in the Shoah, perpetrator studies, military history, the First and Second World Wars, and the interwar period in Central and Eastern Europe. He is acting chair for Eastern European History at the Friedrich Schiller University and was a research associate at the Imre Kertész Kolleg in Jena. He has been an invited professor at the Sorbonne in Paris and a researcher at the German Historical Institute in Warsaw. Several of his books have been translated into English and Polish, thus popularizing the violent history of Central Europe in the twentieth century for a broader audience.
