Luca Turin is a biophysicist with an interest in biological electronics. He is working on the mechanisms of olfaction and general anesthesia. He is also the co-author, with his wife, Tania Sanchez, of a critical guide to perfumes: Perfumes: The Guide (Viking Penguin, 2008). He currently lives in Athens, Greece and works at the Alexander Fleming Research Center.
