Merrilee Salmon is Professor Emerita at the University of Pittsburgh in the Department of History and Philosophy of Science. Before retiring from Pittsburgh, she taught at Indiana University, DePauw University, University of Arizona, and Kyoto University. She is former editor-in-chief of Philosophy of Science. Her interests include philosophy of the social sciences and critical thinking. She is the author of Philosophy of Archaeology, Introduction to Logic and Critical Thinking, several edited works, and numerous articles.
