Tony Liss serves as Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs at the City College of New York. He is an experimental high energy physicist who has worked at the Tevatron at Fermilab as a key member of the team that discovered the top quark, and at the Large Hadron Collider at CERN, where he was a member of the ATLAS Collaboration that co-discovered the Higgs boson. He spent the first twenty-five years of his career as a Professor of Physics at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
