Wendy Doniger

Wendy Doniger is the Mircea Eliade Distinguished Service Professor of the History of Religions at the University of Chicago and the author of over forty books, including translations of Sanskrit texts, such as the Rig Veda (1981), the Laws of Manu (1991), and the Kamasutra (2002), and books about Hindu history, including The Hindus: An Alternative History (2009), Hindu myths, such as On Hinduism (2013), comparative mythology, such as The Implied Spider: Politics and Theology in Myth (1999), and myths about sex, such as The Ring of Truth, and Other Myths of Sex and Jewelry (2017).
