Eduardo de Rafael is Emeritus Director of Research at the Center for Theoretical Physics at Aix-Marseille University. He holds degrees in physics from the University of Barcelona and the University of Paris in Orsay. He was a postdoc at the Brookhaven National Laboratory, a CERN fellow, a CNRS member at the Institut des Hautes Etudes Scientifiques near Paris, and Director of the Center for Theoretical Physics in Marseille. He has been an invited professor to the Institute for Advanced Studies, Boston University, Brookhaven National Laboratory, the Max Planck Institute, the Universidad Autònoma de Barcelona, and the University of Vienna. He was awarded the Prix Servant of the French Academy of Sciences.
